Nutrition

I would like to know if there is there a nutrionalist avaliable. I have Eisenmeingers
Syndrome. No one knows much about it so they don't know what to tell me to
take. I currently am taking vitamins (E) (C) centrum silver- even though I
am just A 33 year old (female) and sometimes Echinacea and Lysine to boost
my immune system. I have had a stroke and a seizure so my memory is not so
good. Someone suggested Ginkobola and ginseing. Can you tell me of any nutrional substitues
I can use that would be better than these.

Dear Rhonda,
Thank you for your question.    There is not much literature on nutritional treatment of Eisenmengers syndrome (left to right shunting of the blood in the heart).  It is usually treated surgically.   You might try calling the nutrition dept of the nearest university medical center and making an appointment with someone there.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies.  Please feel free to write back with additional questions.
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.  The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
