I'm wondering if anyone here has an experience with angina and the arteries in the legs. My dad had CABG x 4 in 1998 and has been experiencing leg discomfort. The ultrasound shows blockages in the lower extremeties. He has an arteriogram scheduled for next week at which time the doctor will determine if he can "break up" the buildup. Anyone had this done? If so, are there any questions we should be asking? Oh, the doctor prefers this approach to stenting as a first line of treatment.
Lifestyle changes, Cryoplasty, Endarterectomy, and various drugs are often used in an attempt to "break up or remove" plaque caused by PAD before bypass and stenting. Wish I could offer more.
All my best to your dad!
