On-going chest pain, shortness of breath and PVCs

I am 17 years old and have been having chest pain and shortness of breath for about a year now. I also have a chronic cough for many years now. I get very tired very quickly just from walking a few minutes. Getting around school has become difficult for me, especially walking up the stairs. While walking I start getting the chest pain and my heart starts pounding really hard and fast. Recently I started getting PVCs very frequently, about 2-4 a minute. I have been the ER quite a few times. A chest x-ray was normal. EKG was normal execpt for the PVCs. The echo-cardiogram was also normal, execpt for mild mitral regurgitation(The doctor doesn't seem to be too concerned about that.) I also had a pulmonary function test which showed a low lung capacity. I have an appointment with a neuromuscular disease doctor on Sept 28 to rule out any muscle problems. Right now I'm very worried about the PVCs/skipped beats. They happen more frequently with exertion. These tests were all done about 6 months ago and my symptoms are still getting worse. I'm not sure what that specialist will do and I'm not sure whether to go back to my family doctor and have the tests redone again. What could the problem be?

Don't have the tests redone.  The pvcs are relateively benign and in your cases arent' that frequent at all.  Ones that I consider very frequent are those that happend a couple of times in 6-10 seconds.  I would suggest wearing a holter monitor to  assess the total PVC burden in a 24 hour period.  So far your caridac workup is negative.
