I believe I have some what the same problem. When I get up in the am,my B/P is high say around
158/87 and I take a B/P med B-4 bedtime.When I go for my walk and return,I take ie again and it's
where it should be through out the day. When my cardio adivsed me that I took it too many times a day,My I would keep these readings on my mind. Now I take it B-4 the walk,20 mins after, lunch, dinner, and at bedtime.Oh,one more thing,I take my B/P meds B-4 Bedtime
When I was a research nurse, I did a couple of studies that looked at BP while on Vioxx. The protocol had the patient sit for 20 minutes before we took the BP. It would take all day for you to take repeated readings! Please, just relax, take it once a week and keep a record to take to your physician.
Your bp is normal. Sheeeesh What the heck will it take. Just for you, I just went and took my bp. I am on meds that keep mine low due to CHF....but here is the thing. Out of 4 tries I had a range of 14 points. The highest was the first after moving around to find the cuff and get it. OK? Stop taking the bp the way you are. It will vary every time. That is NORMAL!!
I had a battery operated kit. I threw it out because of the readings were all over the place. I dont use the machine at the drug store or the grocery. They are poorly handled and overused and probably grossly inaccurate. I have a self taking kit that I bought at the med supply store. It is stored away because I will not fixate on that number. My BP has never been high, always on the "low" side. "Often" and a few others said in the original post you copied this from that yes, your reading seem to be in the normal range. Watch your diet and exercise and you should be good to go.
Dont let it get to your head. I let that happen about my cholesterol and its driving me crazy. Now i am trying to fix that and its exteremely hard. Imaging constantly looking up things on the net about heart attacks and then reading forums on the many people who had them at young ages.. Dont let checking your BP become a problem like mine. Truthfully all this started about 2 months ago i had an panic attack from smoking pot. I will never touch that stuff again.
Everytime i go to the pharmacy my blood pressure is always high really gets me mad. When i go to the doctors its always normal except the last time 2 weeks ago i went and it was 138 over something.
Well, i took it 4 times in 1 sitting. I heard thats OK to do it a few times than average it.
First reading about a minute or 2 into sitting was 129. Second reading was 126. Third was 118. Fourth was 119. It always seems to do that. Is it normal to be around 130 or so when walking around or just after sitting? Is under 120 really mainly just based on resting blood pressure? It goes down to 118 or 119 after im sitting about 5 minutes and clear my mind. Just curious if this is normal and means my bp is ok
Seems odd to me that you would devote so much time taking your blood pressure over and over again. And then a couple more times. Have you heard of white coat syndrome. I would think the stress you cause fixating on this to be a large part of any possible problem. Give yourself a break. Choose a restful time of the day and take it. Write the numbers down, put the BP kit up until the next day. Repeat. Take the sheet with the numbers on your next doctor visit and let him evaluate. Rest your heart and brain and relax.
