Other Med Options to VERAPAMIL

Dose anyone have any thoughts of meds that are better alternatives to Verapamil? Is there another therapeutic drug with fewer side effects? My loved one is on two drugs, Crestor and Verapamil...but the fatigue is almost debillatating.

Help....any thoughts. Any successes out there?

Is anyone out there having bouts of extreme nausea and severe constipation while taking Verapamil?  Are there alternatives that I can take.  Verapamil is prescribed to me for atrial fibrillation along with flecanide.

Be careful  taking diltiazem (lisinopril).  I was on it for medium high blood pressure for 5 years and finally stopped taking it because it had caused deep depression, not to feelings of suicide though.   It seemed to build up, so be on the lookout for feelings of not caring and hopelessness.  Now I'm on Verapamil and am doing OK except for the ankle swelling.  Tried another CB'er (Cartia XT or Cardizem) and had the same edema effect.   I'll try this (Verapamil) for another week or so but will ask to change to something else.  A lady I worked with told me she had to try 8 different meds before she found one she could tolerate.  I'm on number 3, so wish me good luck!

I tried Verapamil and it did not agree with me at all. I could handle the fatigue and muscle aches but the chest pain and SOB did me in.  Recently I was on Diltiazem for awhile. Was tired a bit, had headaches the first couple of weeks but overall it wasn't a bad med. I can't take beta blockers because of asthma. The Diltiazem was helpful in easing some of my tachy times and got rid of my chest pains.
