PACs and Chest soreness

I had a PVI ablation a couple months ago and the EP took me off Fleccanide last week and kept me on 50 mg metoprolol.  Since then infrequent PACs have turned to frequent (say 2-4 hrs a day of up to one beat in 3 of mostly skipped beats) which manifests itself as a "thud" which rises into the throat and sometime becomes a dry cough.  Chest pains sometime "stingy" and other time "dull" which come and go.  If the PACs were assoicated with a mild heart attack what would that feel like?

Most likely the pains are from the PACs.  Heart attacks do not typically cause PACs.  If there is any component of pain which worsens with breathing deeply after an ablation, some people can have some inflammation around the heart after an ablation, this is usually a shap pain and worse with inspiration and lying down, called pericarditis.  But what sounds like you have is some symptoms related to PACs.  Your doctor may want to make sure your holter monitor is correct in that you are having PACs.
3 months after a PVI one can have some residual inflammation and irregular heart beats.  After the 3 month blanking period is when we establish whether or not the PVI was successful or not.
Hope this helps!
