PFO in the long term

PFO in the long term

Hi.

I am a 34 years old woman. 9 months ago, while pregnant of my second child I found I have a PFO.
I did cariological exams because of palpitations. A holter monitor also diagnosed sinus tachicardya.
The doctor said the PFO was nothing to worry about and that the palpitations were due to pregnancy.
I am now 3 months after labor and I feel tired, even though my baby sleeps well and I have family help. Palpitations improved, but I feel short of breath and rapid heart bit with little effort, such as picking clothes from the drawing machine, bathing my eldest girl and sometimes speaking. When I exercise, my heart rate raises very fast. When I climb stairs also feel short of breath and fast heart beat. I was anemic after the birth, due to an hemorragy. But after one month taking iron, my hemoglobin got back to 12.3. So the question is: could there be an association of the PFO and feeling tired and having little resistance to effort? Is it possible that with age the PFO make us feel something, even tough I read most people go through life with no symptoms?

Thanks a lot,
annak.

Annak,
I am 25, also with a pfo. Mine was discovered while undergoing testing for palps also. I, too, experience sob - with and without exertion and activity and have since the birth of my daughter. My cardio doc says no need to worry also. But I can't help but feel like there is some relation. Hope it helps to know there is someone else going through the same thing
