PSVT and general anesthesia

I am scheduled for elective plastic surgery in July and I have a diagnosed history of PSVT with no underlying heart disease. I have a previous surgery and outpatient endoscope performed since dx with no complications, but I'm concerned about being under general anesthetic for about 3 hours. What are my risks of developing a problem while under? I currently control my PSVT with a valsalvar manuver. It only occurs about 3x a year while asleep.

I also have ectopics and PSVT. Recently had surgery. My cardio recommended that I start on a med to calm things down since some anesthesia can trigger the tachy.( I tend to have more tachy times than you - when I wore the monitor for the month before surgery I had 42 episodes of tachy with plenty of ectopics and 11 chest pain times. Maybe my cardio was a little concerned.)  I started the med 2 weeks before the surgery, the anesthesiologist knew about my wacky heart and everything went smoothly.

There is a small risk that your arrhythmia may recur, however, as you know this is a benign condition that is very unlikely to cause any serious problems.  The anesthesiologists who will be taking care of you intra and post operatively are well qualified to take of you.  Make sure that you let them know of your condition.
