PSVT medicine verapamil and MDMA

by Michael, Dec 22, 1999 12:00AM
If a patient with PSVT ingests 50 to 100mg of MDMA and a subsequent tachycardia episode occurs, will verapamil be effective against stopping the episode? The heart medicine is not now currently being taken and no major episodes in the last six months. What would help the patient after MDMA ingestion if verapamil proved ineffective? Are the two drugs dangerous together?

Probably the best thing would be for the patient not to take the MDMA in the first place.  There aren't really any kinds of studies done on interactions with MDMA and other drugs so taking anything with MDMA would be putting yourself at risk.
