PVC supression

by para4573, Oct 01, 2009 04:01PM
I presently take 200mg of amiodarone daily.  It worked for a while and then guit.  I have constant PVC's from every second, third , fourth, etc , heartbeat.  Sometimes I can go a minute without one but that is rare.  I was on tambacor for years until it stopped working.  These random pvc's now continue during bedtime and this is new.  Years ago I took a small dose of beta-blocker daily and it did great for a while but then slowed my heart rate down into the 40's.  Normal is 52-60bpm.  My Electrophysiologist says my condition is not dangerous.  I have a defib implanted because 10 years ago the doctors fibrillated my heart to see if it would recover.  It did not and they had to use the paddles three times before my heart stabilized.  The device has never gone off.  Do you have any suggestions like medicines, dosages, ablative surgery recommendations, etc.?

I've had severe PVC's and was told these were "normal" and there was nothing that could be done.  Through some online research, i ran across an article that linked Magnesium deficiency to PVC's or heart arhythmias.  I've been taking the RDA of Magnesium through an over-the-counter supplement, and my PVC's have significantly decreased.  Not sure if it will work for everyone, but it seems a safe and easy solution and may be worth a shot.
