PVC's and Esophagus

Hi!

I am a 41 yr. old female, who up until 6 months ago had no heart problems at all. Heart disease runs in my family and I also have high cholesterol.

6 months ago I started having strange symptoms and docs. told me I have PVC's which are very common, and have been put on Verapamil 240mg. once a day, which has helped considerably.

The question I have is, at the same time I was diagnosed with these was the same time they said I have heartburn, and my chest pain, burning pain, is to do with my esophagus. Sometimes I have terrible pain come all of a sudden and last about 5 minutes. Is this my heart or does it sound more like esophagus trouble? I had the heart tests which determined PVC's and sinus tachycadia, these pains are concerning me. I also had upper GI tests that really didn't show anything much.

I welcome any comments because this all new to me.

Thanks

Lynda

Dear Lynda,

It is likely that these symptoms are from your esophagus, but i am unable to make a diagnosis in this forum.  Please direct these questions to your internist.

Best of luck.
