I am a 50 year old male who does not smoke or drink and was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy over a year ago. Along with that I also have been diagnosed with PVC's and hypertension. My heart (left ventricle) was somewhat enlarged and my ejection fraction was calculated to be at 40%. Since my diagnosis I began a treatment plan of 50 mg of COREG per day along with 20mg of benazapril. I changed my eating habits to a accommodate a healthy lifestyle and started a cardio exercise program. Low and behold I lost 40 pounds, my heart is back to a normal size, my blood pressure is never over 120/80 and my ejection fraction is now calculated to be at 50% - 55%. I even run 2 to 3 miles per day. However, I can't seem to get rid of my PVC's. I feel no physical effect from them what so ever and my cariologist says this is more than likely a benign non-life threatning condition. I am applying for a job that requires I pass a physical examination and was told by another person that there is a medical excuse card that I could obtain that basically says I have a non-life threatning condition (PVC's) and I am not restricted from, or limited to any physical duties. Have you ever heard of such a card? My cardiologist has not. The person who told me about this card is a family practice physican that I am no longer in contact with.
