PVCs and Palpitation

I have always had slow heart rate, 48-52, which has nothing to do with my physical conditioning. That is it matters little wheather I'm in shap or not, my heat rate remains the same at rest. Since November I have developed more PVCs than usual especially while sleeping. These I believe set off palpitations that wake me up. Sometimes I can have three of these during sleep--which means I get very little sleep. Naturally it has impaired my life style substantially. Lack of sleep leaves me too tired to do much during the day. Fortunately I'm retired or I would have lost my job long ago. Neather of my cardiologist has suggested a pacemaker, Why? No EP study has been done, Why? I discovered by accident that if I sleep in a sitting position, the PVCs are much less and there are no palpitations,Why? I haven't related this to my doctors yet, but will if I see that I continue to be free of PVCs and palpitations when sleeping sitting up, (not an easy way to get good sleep, but I'll take it to the palpitation any day.
