PVC's and chest pain all tests negative

by ab312, Dec 07, 2008 08:20PM
I have been having PVC's and chest pain on and off since I had a panic attack.  I have been through all tests, and they are all negative.  I exercise regularly, have low cholesterol, good HDL/LDL ratios, negative stress echo.  I don't understand why I have chest pain if my heart is ok.  Is it possible that I need more tests to assure that my heart is ok?  Is it really possible that stress or anxiety is causing my chest pain?

This is really driving me crazy, and is affecting my life.  Any help or ideeas you have would really be appreciated.
Thank you

If you could afford it, ask for a MRI of the heart,  That will show any unusual aspects of your heart

It is very possible that your pain can be brought on by anxiety. It sounds like you have had enough tests to rule out your heart. What does your doctor say about it?

I have experienced heart anxiety in the past and I know that I could start an episode of PVCs and chest pain very easily. Like you, I had gone through many tests including 2 Thallium stress tests, both negative, 3 echos, all normal and many EKGs before the problem was diagnosed as a bad gallbladder, once it was removed the pain went away and the anxiety attacks stopped as well, never had that "first" pain to start my mind off.

You should talk to your doctor about these attacks and see if he can offer you any treatment. Having said all that, don't ignore your chest pain, if you have it along with the other major symptoms like shortness of breath, excessive sweating or nausea you should get it checked out right away.

Good Luck,

Jon
