Pacemaker side effects

I had a pacemaker inserted 4 days ago.  It was much more painful than I ever expected.  When does the pain start to fade away in the chest and arm?  I also had a strange thing happen this morning.  I moved my chin down near my left shoulder and got a shocking feeling like the wires inside touched each other and caused a short.  It woke me up for the rest of the day.  I must admit that today I have so much more energy and feel like I did 10 years ago.  Will this last?

This should subside to almost no pain at about 5-7 days. If not there may be a technical issue with the placement of the pacemaker and interruption of skin ( cutaneous nerves) which supply the skin overlying th incision. If so these will grow back in the majority of patients and no pain syndromes develop.
It is unlikely that the wires 'touched' as they are hermetically sealed from each other to prevent that exact problem. This would be detected by the device and stored as an alert, and would be able to be retrieved at the next device follow up.
