Pain in skeletal muscle of chest

Pain in skeletal muscle of chest

For the past 3years, I have been experiencing pain every morning in my chest. Initially I thought there is something wrong with my heart, but after several tests, we concluded it's just muscle pain, the muscle above the bone that protects the heart. Sometimes when I wake up, I actually flex my chest muscles and could hear a "click" sound on my skeletal muscle above my heart. Is there a solution for this? If I exhale or flex my chest muscles I feel this pain. I always feel it in the morning. How can I get rid of this? I am 36, somehow athletic.

I unfortunately do not have a good solution for how to resolve this pain.  I would try using non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen, Naproxen (alleve), etc.  Maybe try using heating pads or alternating with ice and see if any of these things help.  I would reassure you that it is not dangerous but just an annoying pain.  I am surprised you have had it more this long.  I would talk to your primary care physician and see if they have an ideas but this does not sound to be cardiac (related to your heart) at all which is a good thing!!!

This sounds like cosochondritis, chest wall pasin,. I have this for 20+ years but it can pop up at any time and anywhere in the chest area. Normally you will find sports that are very sore when you apply pressure to tham. I usually will have the spots on both sides at the same area, these are called triggger points. I am not sure you have this but my chest is very sore in the morning but I get flares where the pain lasts for days and weeks at a time. Moist heat is the only thing that helps me. I do get the popping sensation and also feel the pain more with inhaling and exhaling.

There are a lot of posts on this site about chest wall pain, if you do a search you will find them. This is quite frightening to have as you never know what is going on. my cardio and my g/p both say if you press and rhe pain gets worse it not cardiac pain, that can't be reproduced.
