Palpitations from food

I am a 28 year old male.  I have had very odd palpitations when consuming whey protein since 2001.  Since 2005, it appears that other foods (wheat gluten, rice, corn products for example) cause or exascerbate a whole different palpitation.  

I haven't noticed this on any message forum before.  

Has anyone experiences something similar?  Food, specifically a few types of protein seem to have caused me major problems.

I haven't heard of that before (then again, I haven't heard about a lot of things). I do know if I eat too quickly it will trigger my arrhythmias. Probably something about stimulating the vagus nerve that runs along the esophageal area. I imagine if there was an allergic reaction to something you could have some heart rhythm involvement as well. But just protein? I don't know.

It is very odd and I haven't heard of it anywhere else either.  

When I first consumed whey protein by itself, it happened.  My body would twitch a little bit afterwards.  Also, I would tend to go hypoglycemic from the whey.  As I would fall asleep, I would feel a major jolt and my body would lurch a bit out of the bed.

It took me quite some time to figure out that it was actually whey that caused it.
