Palpitations

by palpqueen, Feb 19, 2007 12:00AM
Is it normal to get skipping heart beats every day?  I get them probably 10 times a day.  The cardio has totally checked out my heart and given me the normal heart thing and said don't worry.  I don't like this feeling when it skips though.  I have read on this forum that a lot of people get this but I find it hard to believe it is normal.  I am a 46 year old female with no other health problems at all.

I sometimes get them in a row as well.  It will skip, then beat normal for a few beats and then skip again.  Is that a bad thing?  I really don't like the sensation it gives.  I don't have any other symptoms with it just the skipping sensation.

I have tried to see if it happens more at different times of the month but there is no cycle to it.  It just comes and goes every day for no reason.  It can happen when I am excited or when I am stressed out as well.  When I get stressed it seems to go into a funky rythum for a couple of seconds and then do a hard beat and back to normal.  Do you think the cardios are missing something or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

palpqueen,

Thanks for the post.

Your in a boat with a lot of others here. Your sensations are similar to what others here have experienced as is your worry over the symptoms. I would look through the forum to get a better idea how others have dealt with their situation.

good luck

Hi,

Sorry you're having problems with the palpatations. Did you do a search on this site before posting? This subject comes up pretty frequently.

Browse the archives at:
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/cardio/archive/Palpitation1.html

and see if any of those posts are helpful. That may calm any worries until the doctor comes along. Many times palpitations are absolutely harmless.

Take care and good luck!
