Panic syndrome and Cardilolite Stress Test concerns

by Howard Gelfman, Sep 01, 1999 12:00AM
I am due to take a {Thallium} Rx states Cardiolite exercise stress test 02/07 and I am a bit anxious about it. I am concerned if there are any "sensations" I might get when they inject the radio isotope and if there are any containdications on taking clonopin prior to or during the resting phase of the test if indeed I get anxious or panicky? Thanks in advance!

Dear Howard,

There are virtually no "sensations" that people get with the injection of the radioisotope for this procedure.

You may wish to mention your anxiety to your physician and they may be able to prescibe an anxiolytic for the procedure .  you will be asked to lie still in a camera for some time to do the images.(this is similar to a CT scan although more open)
