Perfusion defect in anterior wall

Perfusion defect in anterior wall

Hi
I am a 54 yr old female, 5.1,  115 lbs, work out 3 x a week w family history of heart disease.  I was experience chest pains, shortness of breath on exertion  and had a cardiolite stress exam.
My results say moderate area of nonreversible moderately severe perfusion defect in anterior wall. Also large area of nonreversible moderately sever perfusion defect in the inferior wall.
What does this mean?  Is there something that can be done?
I cannot get an appointment with a cardiologist for a week and I  am not sure I feel confident when they tell you, you have a defect over the phone. My father died at 59 of heart disease so I am obviously stressed over this.  Other than no strenuous exercise. Is there something else I should do?
  Thanks.

Hi Madge

YES.  There is something you can do!!!!  Not worry too much at this time.  :)  Remember, Stress can induce cardiac problems.  What I can tell you, is that no matter how perfectly fit and healthy a lifestyle you live, "GENES" are a big part ot it.

Wait until you get yourself tested by a cardiologist.  There are many procedures now a days that can increase longevity and not exactly reverse, but manage cardiac problems.  But please, don't stress about it.  It can work against you.

Good luck
