Perfusion question.

by martystevens, Jan 06, 2008 08:54AM
I have multi-vessel CAD. the LAD had a 85% blockage just proximal to the diagonal. During PCI a complication arose resulting in the acute closure of the diagonal branch. two stents were used to reopen the artery. The distal branch of the RCA was also stented due to another 85% blockage. Since that procedure I have continued to have exercised induced angina. Repeat angiography failed to explain the problem. Recently took a stress myocardial perfusion test which free of ischemia however it showed  a mild to moderate perfusion defect in the mid anterior regions. "This is consistent with an attenuation artifact. There is no evidence of inducible myocardial ischemia. Post stress ejection fraction is 76%. Exercise capacity 15 METS  No EKG changes. I don't understand what the perfusion comments are. Secondly, although the test did not show ischemia, I did feel slight chest discomfort at the end of the test. The previous study did show mild to moderate ischemia in the anterior wall. (6 months ago), with definite symptoms.  However, I started a program of EDTA give intravenously once per week. That seems to have had the greatest impact on the reduction of angina. My HDL/LDL ration is now at 1:1 (65/65) due to statin and Niaspan.  Thank you.
