Pericardial Cyst

I recently discovered I have a pericardial cyst.  My question is... is this something that is hereditary?  Could my children suffer from this as well maybe.

Pericardial cysts are the result of embryological developmental defect. They are quite rare and are usually an incidental discovery. Patients frequently have no symptoms from the cyst although they can compress of some of the heart chambers depending on the size. I know of no studies that have shown a genetic component to the development of pericardial cysts.
