Peripheral edema and photosensitizing medications

I had a regular patient come into my pharmacy and ask a question that has stumped me for the past couple of hours. She is undergoing intense light treatments over the next 6 months and sometimes takes furosemide for the edema in her feet. She (and her doctor) were curious what sort of diuretic she could take that would have a lower incidence of photosensitivity during this time. At first I thought that maybe an agent with a shorter half-life could be used between treatments, but realized quickly that blood half-lives do not indicate the half-lives of agents within the skin compartment (and therefore the half-life of photosensitizing effects). Any help here? She gets treatments 3 times a week. So far I've only been able to recommend compression stockings and salt restriction....
