Pissed as hell at the medical community

Hello there. I'm new to this website and felt I needed to share the hell i'm going through because of the lack of diligence in the medical community. I am a 43 year old male who until 4 years ago was feeling overall ok. Since Jan of 2012 I have had multiple issue ranging from extreme bowel pain to PVC's. I have had multiple false alarms which resulted in unnecessary cat scan's "6 Total" and as a result developed really bad anxiety. My 2 biggest concerns have been my heart and my colon. I had a colonoscopy in late April of 2014 which revealed a flat polyp which was completely removed and according to me GI doctor was non cancerous and not even dangerous. He then told me he wanted to see me in 2 years for a follow up colonoscopy. So I will be seeing him soon and as an FYI I never trusted his diagnosis because I am feeling some pain and discomfort for some time on the same side that the polyp was removed.

In September of 2013 I started developing what seemed to be a skipped beat in my heart which came and went every few weeks. I went to my first cardio doc who did an echo, stress test, blood works, etc. Everything according to him was normal other than slight regurgitation in the heart. He said it was nothing to worry about. As 2014 started the PCV's were beginning to happen more often and sometimes they would be bad enough that they stopped me from doing any kind of activity. I had repeated visits to my cardio guy which always resulted in the same outcome. Everything was ok. In December of 2014 I had a tachycardia which scared the hell out of me and I ended up in the hospital. They kept me there for a few days. I had a stress test done while at the hospital and my EF came back as a 41%. Once they explained what that I was my stress levels went through the roof. The chief cardio doc in the hospital told me she didn't trust the results of the stress test and wanted me to come to her office to do a MUGA test. This test is the so called Gold standard for checking the heart and giving an accurate EF number.

I decided to start going to her  and shorts after my hospital stay I had the MUGA test done and it revealed an
EF of 71%. I asked the doctor how can there be such a big difference  between the result at the hospital and the MUGA. She said the standard stress test can often be wrong because it's measured by a computer which is prone to making mistakes. I asked her is it possible for the MUGA to be wrong and she said no. I went back to the cardio doc in May 2015 complaining that something felt off with my heart. Once I explained she sent me to a pulmonologist. I have Asthma which is very well controlled and this didn't seem like Asthma. Almost like a shortness of breath when lying down. Went to see a pulmonologist which tested me for a few things which all came back negative. Had a breathing test done which did come back abnormal. He said I had scarring on my bronc tube and that is what has causing this sensations. The doc said keep taking my meds.

As 2015 was coming to a close I was having some trouble while lying down and trying to fall asleep. it's ben going on for a few months now and the first thing that came to mind was my heart. I feel that the MUGA test was wrong and that for over a year it has gone ignored and my EF has gotten worse because mistakes have been made and I have slipped through the cracks. Whats makes this whole situation worse is that I was sent to a Hemotologist who did some blood works and had me come in yesterday to give me the results. Turns out my CA 19-9 is at 54.7. Normal is 37 below. I have thought for over the last almost 2 years that I have had cancer all this time and no one has found it. The Hemo docs says I don't have cancerous cells but that something is going on. Possibly pancreatitis. I'm getting a sonogram next week. I do have a fatty liver from being over weight. he also mentioned my folic acid was low and put me on a 1mg pill per day to bring it up. Wants me to see the GI doc for an Endo do check for any kind of GI disease. I feel like crap all the time and I don't sleep well. Always feeling sluggish or tired during the day.

I'm at my wits ends with this situation. Will be doing a follow up with my Heart doc, Pulmo doc to get a sleep study, GI doc to get an endo and colonoscopy within the next week/week and a half. All appointments are set. My mental state is very low atm thanks to all this nonsense. I truly don't know If I'm going to make it past this year. And that really *****.

I totally agree with u. I am 48 hard worker and have been off work since November tried to go back. I found National Jewish Health out if Denver. They are #2 in lung/cardio waiting to hear. Everyone here in KC says I am fine just anxiety. If I here they one more time I am going to scream. I have shortness of breath, tightness I faint and leg and upper back pain. I am going to every Dr including a physiatrist. I know my body and there is something wrong!!

You have been tested extensively for various serious ailments, none of which you have.  It appears that you are very angry because no tests have found to confirm that you have a grave illness.

Yet the symtoms you describe do not point to any illness at all.

What are you looking for?

I'm sorry, what more do you expect from these doctors? You keep going in with vague complaints and few symptoms and expect them to find something you don't have?

You have been checked out many times with pretty much all the same results, you're fine. I think you need to see a doctor to help you with your health anxieties, these doctors have all done what they can based on your complaints. They have ordered appropriate tests and all seem to have been interpreted well, I'm not sure why you feel the medical community has let you down.

Again, you may need to work on your anxiety.
