Plaque on teeth & coronary artery disease
Does a highpH in the saliva cause disolved solids like calcium to build up on both tooth enamel as well as the arteries. Is this the correlaton that is in question in several discussions here. I beleive this is basic chemisty and holds true in fish tanks, water pipes in your house, teeth & vascular walls.

the general train goes like this: bacteria cause gingivitis, the body responds with inflammation, the inflammatory signaling molecules (like cytokines etc) travel through the bloodstream creating low level inflammation in the entire system - which can contribute to artery blockage
