Plavix duration

Plavix duration

I have one Taxus 2 DES placed three years ago. I have been on aspirin and Plavix for three years. Just told by my cardiologist I should go off the Plavix. She said one year would have been sufficient as I have one stent in the diagonal and not a major artery. She said the rest of my vascular system was clean. The research I have done indicates the Taxus 2 stent is probably the worst stent available and has more restenosis as well as more malaposition problems which cause stent thrombosis.

Interested in what others are told that have a Taxus 2 stent.

I haven't researched the Taxus 2 stent, but it is my understanding that DES implants reduces the risk of clots and plavix and aspirin are recommended up to a year. DES implants are to help avoid any restenosis, but increase a slight risk of clots.
