Please help me out. I am in fear.

Hello. Young 18 year old here. Bad anxiety and under a lot of stress. But generally healthy and good blood pressure and heart. Anyways, the other day I went to sit down and I felt this enormous head rush and I felt it start from my heart and move up to my head. Followed by that was a pretty sharp pain in the middle and slightly upper part of my chest. I have bad panic attacks so I looked up what it could be and I saw aortic dissection. Of course I flipped out and almost passed out from the fear. Lol. But anyways. Do you guys think I have that? Can I just get it out of nowhere? Or would I be dropped dead? I normally feel small pains around my chest and back. Of course in aortic dissection you get pain between your shoulder blades and I get that anyways from a recent auto accident. Please help calm me down. :(

Aortic dissection is almost impossible in a young person like you.  Usually a dissection occurs in people that are old and have a long long history of untreated high blood pressure.  These people are usually smokers and are generally in bad health,  Also you can get a dissection from the G forces involved in a bad car accident or some other form of traumatic injuries.  Depending on the severity of the tear, an aortic dissection carries a huge morality rate.  Your chances from surviving from a complete aortic dissection are very slim.  The surgery involved is a very long process and many of the patients that have this condition die on the O.R. table from blood loss.  I worked in an O.R. for years and every single patient with a full blown dissection ended up dying on the table.  Every patient that I saw was old and in bad physical shape.  That said the chances that you have a dissection is very very nearly impossible low.  More than likely you have some anxiety issues which can play tricks on your body and mind.  For the sake of making sure everything is OK , I would go to the doctor for a 24 hour HOLTER monitor and an ECHO (doplar of your hear) to make sure you do not have any abnormal heart beats or any structural issues with your heart.

Thanks for easing my mind. It just scared me. I have a tendency to freak out over things. Lol. I actually was so scared I developed symptoms like back pain and numbness in my legs and whatnot. I realized it was in my head when they would go away.
Thanks again.
