Poor R Wave Progression in obese Woman

My mother died a couple months ago of Occlusive Coronary Atherosclerosis.  She was an obese woman, not in very good health, with high blood pressure.  She had an ECG a month before she passed that at the top says Poor R Wave Progression and unconfirmed Test.  As far as we know no other test were done.  Could you tell me what this means and if there should of been more tests done?  Thank you.

The wave characteristics you describe is often evaluated to an anterior myocardial infraction (heart attack) and should be ruled out. Also, there could be a technical cause such the placement of ECG leads.

Bottomline,  a poor R wave progression is a vague term and not a diagnosis. There may have been a determination there was improper lead  placement and/or there is no supporting evidence for a prior heart attack.  If there was/is concern there should be a follow up by an echocardiogram.

It doesn't appear your doctor is considering a prior heart attack and has ruled that out.  Take
care and thanks for sharing.
