Possible heart problems

I was diagnosed as having mitral valve problems when pregnant with my first child 23 years ago. But about 10 years ago my present dr. said i didn't appear to have it. Over the years i have noticed a burning sensation in my chest with and without physical exertion, plus i have been tiring easily.  I hadn't been to a dr for a long time so i went and mentioned this. I was sent for an echocardiagram. It showed enlargement of the left ventricle and i am scheduled to see a cardiac dr. next week. I am also noticing a continuing pain in my chest and pain in my left shoulder and forearm. I am 48, overweight, but still very active. But the discomfort in my chest has me wondering. Anyone else have these problems? Any advice?
