Post Heart Attack Changes

I've read many posts and still have so many questions.  My husband is 40, he had a heart attack 1 month ago after going to a Cardiologist last year and having a stress test and EKG which were both normal.  The once healthy man who never took anything stronger than Aleve is now of course on a daily regiment of medications.  He's in the military so he is physically fit, he no longer smokes and eats healthy.  He use to be so easy going and now the smallest of small things sends him into a mean, angry fit!  He just says the meanest things and blames me for everything.  He yells if I say something about him forgetting to take his meds so I don't remind him then he forgets and yells that I let him forget!  He yells that I don't let him eat pizza and other artery cloggers then if I finally say fine just eat it!, then he yells that I let him eat bad food!  REALLY??  We've been married 6 months and this is what I have now...  a screaming mad husband who will not discuss anything.

I don't know what to do!  I'm a therapist so I try to talk to him about how he might be feeling so I can understand and help more.  I get yelled at for this too!  Someone please just tell me how I can help him or help me or help someone!  I want to talk to his Cardiologist before he goes to his appointment next week but I don't want him to know that I discussed his whole mood ordeal with his doctor behind his back or that's a whole new batch of yelling

I am sorry about the troubles you are going through at home. Unfortunately, I am not qualified to comment on social behaviors that are out of the norm. However, regarding your husbands's cardiac issues, I would encourage that if he suffered a heart attack (and especially if he had stents placed), that he maintains 100% compliance with his medications. Not only are these medications proven to increase survival in patients who have experienced an MI, but can be catastrophic in some cases (where stents were placed) if they are missed (i.e. Plavix).
