Post Mitral Valve Repair & Excercise

One year since the repair the leakage is back. What is the next step, a 2nd operation, is excercise a plus or minus? I am 62 years old and had received very little pos op instructions.

I would say that this is one of those things that the sqeaky wheel gets the oil. I for the life of me cannot understand why you are not getting an exit consultation with the doctor and post op support.  There is so much involved here that we could possibly not know that to toss in an opinion may not be the greatest idea and to let your doc do their job.  Personally i def. would not be exercising w MVP and continued leaking without the consent of my doctor because it could make it worse before it makes it better.  As far as what the second step is alot depends on the type of repair that was done on your MV because it depends wholly on what the level of leakage is with the valve and if it is something simple to take care of but you seem to have an issue w. the doc not taking care of business.  I would call the office every hour until the doc speaks to you, makes an appt. for you to come back in and run a couple of tests on you...but the bottom line is the bottom line...you have to like your doc, trust your doc and get the attn. that you have already paid for and if not there is nothing wrong at all w. getting a second opinion from another doc that wants to take the time and care to take care of this...i just wouldn't let it go on too long my friend...i would start the calls tomorrow and not stop until the have you in that office....they can't know anything is wrong to help you if you don't tell them...good luck with this....
