Post ablation

After an ablation for atrial fib, how long do they keep you on betapace, Doc wants to take me off of it next month, after 4-5 months and see what happens back on the toprol. Is that usually how they test there ablation to see if it works, And usually would it have creeped its head out by now, if it was going to come back or would the anti-arrythmic keep it away. Thanks. My docs wanted me to stay on meds for a couple of months following my ablation.  I was taking amiadorone and did not tolerate that very well.   Because my heart was staying in rhythm after a month, I was able to taper off the amiadorone early.  Now I am only on lipitor and a daily aspirin.
