Post aortic valve replacement triglyceride levels

Post aortic valve replacement triglyceride levels

I have always been typically high for triglyceride levels (300's) and at the age of 49 had my aortic valve replaced with a st. jude valve.  If I always had a slight heart murmur, would this have elevated my cholesterol and triglyceride levels even prior to my surgery?  And following surgery, not immediately, but over the course of the first year, my triglyceride levels jumped to 1400 without changing any habits.  Omega 3 and Niaspan brought them down currently to only 600.

My surgery was textbook and no complications.  Prior to my surgery and still occasionally, I have episodes of partially blurred cloudy vision in one eye at a time (happens to both eyes, but not at the same time) and double vision that lasts not more than several minutes.  It is rare, but still concerns me.  I am currently 52 and about 175 pounds (5'11"). My blood pressure is always on target, am not diabetic, had no bypasses at the time of surgery, and I only take Warfarin as my blood thinner.

I wonder if all these symptoms are related.  My biggest concern is the occasional vision problem and what is causing it.  I am concerned that they are TIA's or anuerysms.

Sincerely,  Jayce Pertz
