Primary Hypercholesterolemia

Hello everyone, please can you give me some information on Primary
Hypercholesterolemia. My 37 year old partner has spent most of summer with
excessive forehead sweating, it gets worse when he shouts (we have a lot of
children) or has to lift heavy things. Also, he has been on a short fuse
so-to-speak and his temper can flare up over the silliest little thing. It
has been progressively getting worse. He went to the doctors where he was
tested for high blood pressure. My partner has not told me how high it was
but he did tell me the Doctor was shocked and surprised by how high it was.
He had further blood tests where it has been found he has Genetic Primary
Hypercholesterolemia. He was advised to tell all his siblings to be tested.
He started Simvastatin 40 MG's last night. The doctor told him even if he
went on a no fat diet it would not reduce his cholesterol levels. He said
that my partners levels where dangerously high and did not give him the
amounts. So my questions are if you could be so kind to answer them...

1) Why is he excessively forehead sweating?

2) In the long term, what symptoms should I look out for where he would need
to go to hospital?

3) Is his life expectancy still the same or is he on borrowed time? (please
be blunt, I need to prepare my children and myself for worse case
situation).

4) I read that Simvastatin has some very nasty side effects. My partner is a
grin and bear it person so what side effects should I look out for?
