Problem with AAA

My husband had a AAA 17 years ago . They now think that they see either leakage or loose shin. He has had a ultra-sound, and ct scan and now they want to do an angiogram. He is on warfarin and they want to do the procedure tomorrow without taking him off of it for a least a week. They said that they would give him something for the bleeding. The doctor said that it is not an emergency and I set an appointment with another doctor for next Tuesday. The ultra-sound was 2 weeks ago and then a week later they did the ct scan(last Tuesday). I asked for a prompt reading that afternoon and never heard anything back from the doctor, until Friday night at 6 o'clock. Needless to say we were worried all weekend and could do nothing about. Now I feel that the doctor is rushing to judgment and I feel that we need a 2nd opinion. The doctor also said that it was hard to compare the new test with my husband original reports because he could not find the second page, which has been in my husband's file for 6 years. Should we wait or should we go ahead ?

In our institution we normally perform diagnostic angiograms off of Coumadin or at least in patients with INRs less than 1.7. Why is you husband on Coumadin? If it is secondary to atrial fibrillation or a DVT then it may be possible to simply hold the Coumadin for 5 days prior to the procedure.   However if it is secondary to anticoagulation for a mechanical valve he may need to be in the hospital for a few days prior to the procedure.
Your physicians need to get not only the report of the findings following the first surgery but the actual CT scans done then so they can compare them and see what exactly has changed.
