Protocols for dental extraction, and treatment

Having dental problem along with imminent AV replacement.

Any reason to hold off on the extraction or any other invasive dental procedures, provided the protocols for Amoxycillin are
adhered to?

Further down the road, can the protocols be dropped subsequent to surgery for valve replacement if the new valve is a homograft or homovital one?  C-E Bovine?  Porcine? I know that mechanical valve replacements must continue with the protocol but what of the others?

Assuming succesful surgery, is there a risk of endocarditis once the darned calcification on the AV is gone?

Actually, you would want to take care of the dental work before the artificial valve is placed. Artificial valves always carry a risk of infection and all precautions must be continued. THis is true regardless of the type of valve.
