Pulmonary HTN

How concerned should I be about a pulmonary artery systolic pressure of 35 - 40mmHg?  Have a hx of exercise induced asthma since age 18 (well controlled) and I am 41 now.  Currently being evaluated for a connective tissue disease.

Pulmonary hypertension is a concern and your measurement is borderline high. It is difficult to comment on the finding of pulmonary hypertension and you have a history of asthma and that may have a bearing on the measurement results. A cath exam for pulmonary pressure is more accurate...a higher than normal pressure can be the result ofpulmonary artery thrombosis and/or pulmonary emboli, and valve stenosis should be ruled out.

Thanks for sharing, take care,
