Pulmonary Hypertension

by cathy929, Mar 07, 2009 04:47PM
My MD told me that my pulmonary pressure was "adequate" on my echocardiogram. How accurately can this be measured? Should he be able to give me a specific number? I have bilateral swelling up to my knees--they pit a little but are generally rock hard. There is some redness around both of the lower legs--just above the ankle. No pain. They just feel very heavy and throw my gait off a bit. My hands have also been turning a very deep purple, especially the little fingers on both hands. It seems to be unrelated to cold temperatures. The thinking was that I may have pulmonary hypertention and when there did not seem to be evidence of it, my doctor has dropped the ball and is not pursuing anything else right now. I am very tired all the time and am short of breath with not a lot of activity. I feel that he needs to be more agressive in solving this. It has been 2-3 months now. Sorry for the length of this and thank you for any thoughts out there.
Cathy
