Pulmonary hypertension

Pulmonary hypertension

I just had a echo done and my cardio said I have very mild pulmonary hypertension.

Conclusions were:

Normal left ventricular systolic function
Mild concentric left ventricular hypertrophy
Mild or grade 1 diastolic dysfunction;impaired relaxation pattern
Mildly dialated left  atrium
Aortic scerlosis without stenosis
Normal mitral valve with mild regurgitation
Mild to moderate triscupid regurgitation
Mild pulmonary hypertension.

EF 60

Other ; normal sized inferior vena cava: esdimated right atrial pressureof 5mmHg. mild pulmonary hypertension.

I am not sure what numbers to give you but  have seen  others mention their  right ventricular systolic pressure. mine was 43.1

I am a senior female, NON SMOKER, any more.

My cardio says everything is fine, no other tests are needed but I read about PH it sounds very serious.I
had a echo almost a year ago that showed moderte PH, the cardio wanted a retest. A year ago my right ventricular systolic pressure was 51.2mmHg.

Thank you, Palmy

Palmy,

Pulmonary hypertension is increasingly being recognized in patients such as yourself who have echocardiograms. I would advise you to discuss your situation with either a cardiologist or pulmonologist who specializes in the care of patients with pulmonary hypertension. The majority of patients with pulmonary hypertension do not require treatment. For patients who do require care there have been many advances over the past few years which have been found to be helpful in the treatment of this condition.
