Quadruple bypass surgery complications

Grandfather had chest pain and back pain couldn't take it anymore they took him to the hospital ran some tests and told him he needs to have this surgery! Within 24 hrs he was having the surgery...Within 5 hours of coming out he still had not woke up they called us and said he hasn't woke up and has internal bleeding they are taking him back in to find the problem. He gets out of surgery for the 2nd time at 2:30a.m.on a friday. It is now 8 DAYS LATER and he still hasnt woke up! We have been told 5 million things as to what is wrong! I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before. They ran a cat scan the next day and said it looked good the next move was a mri. With the mri they found "water sprouts" multiple mild strokes we were told still a great possibility of waking up and he may have mild issues with his arms. He was responding to us talking cracking his eyes but cant focus but move his feet when we said can you hear us. Now days later we are getting NO response! Well after being told 5 days later about the mild strokes the very next day which would be the 6th day of not waking up we are now told he has cancer and they are taking some bone to pin point the type... at this point i feel like they have made a mistake in the operating room and are trying to find any and everything wrong to blame why this man has not woke up! Yes he was a heavy smoker but wouldnt you notice he had a high white blood cell count when you took blood before the surgery? Also he has a aneurysm the size of a beehive they found after surgery. Someone tell me what im thinking is this is their mistake!?Any advice or  response would be great! Thanks in advanced.

Hi there. Im not a doctor.
It sounds like a serious situation reading your post. There in no point in saying anything else.
I can say though that about fifteen years ago my father in law had a Bypass surgery in a hi tech private hospital in Ireland. He had added complication of Kidney failure and was on Dialysis.

Following a triple bypass operation, he was un responsive for ten days.
I feared the worst and wondered were we being told the truth.
Like your granfather, his scan news seemed ok. If the news was bad you would have been told in the first day or two.
Anyway this may give you some small crumb of hope.
Keep the faith
Just to say he recovered on day 11 and lived for 13 years after!
God bless

Doctors were treating an immediate (acute) condition.  Bypass surgery is very complex and a million things can and do go wrong through no ones fault.  Clots form when your body tries to heal, if they "break lose" it can become an aneurysm.  No doctor wants a patient to die and when something goes wrong they wrack their brains and work with colleagues to find a solution.  I'm sure they are doing all they can and I hope he recovers!
