Question about how to change med time

I take 100mg of Toprol XL at 630 pm every day & have for about a year. However, this time isn't working out for me anymore & I'd like to change it to early morning around 11am or maybe 12pm. How would I go about doing this? I know I can't just out of the blue take it at 11am one day. Any help is appreciated!

that sounds like a good plan. i went off it for a few months & other than rapid heartbeat (thats what i take it for) i didnt have any issues. i dont want to be on it to begin with, haha but my doc almost murdered me for being off it without telling him.

he didn't put me on it at 630 thats just what i picked because im supposed to take it with a meal, but i never end up eating at 630 anymore anyway, thats why i want to change it.

i hate it. ive gained almost 60 lbs since i started it, always tired, feel depressed, etc. but my doc is convinced its not the med thats doing that to me even though i never felt that way before... i went off it for about 4 mo & still felt the same so i dunno. my doc almost killed me for doing that.

I took toprol xl  for about 6years or more .. I switched times to take the meds meny times, most times nothing happend - but sometimes I got a few unwanted toprol side effects ,  I think with toprol  and the dose your on,  it would be a good thing to let your doctor know , and see what he thinks, before switching times .  as he could have a good reason for the times your taking the drug ?

Toprol xl is one nasty b.p med .. do you have any side effects from it ??

good luck

I did that with my Diltiazem, changed from bedtime to morning. Most meds have directions for "if you miss taking your medication. . . " So that's what I did; I deliberately missed my bedtime pill and took it in the morning. Mine is only once a day. That means I was late by 12 hours but I had no side effects.

I've never taken Toprol, don't know how often you take yours but most meds stay in the system for "X" number of hours. I'm not sure shifting your med  by 1/2 day would have any adverse effects. You could ask a pharmacist who would know best. Or do it the long way - delay taking your med by 1 hour each day until you reach your goal. Not sure if you have to work around meals like I do with my med. Just don't take it too close together like Noon and again at 6:30 pm. Don't want any overdose effects.
