Questions about my heart

I am a 19 year old male, 6feet 220 pounds. I was less active in the past but have currently started jogging, etc.

The last 2 - 3 weeks or so I've been noticing some weird things going on with my heart. The most prominent being palpitations. I'll notice my heart beat is very faint but when I check my pulse it is perfectly normal. Is this something to be concerned about?

Also my heart will occasionally beat very strongly, pause, and beat strongly again before resuming a normal heart rate. It's easily noticeable because I can feel the pause in between each strong beat. It does not happen very often, but when it does it worries me.

I can answer any questions if the need arises, I just want to maybe clear things up.

Thank you for your prompt response!

I am avidly working on my weight which means a healthy diet and exercise. The only thing thing I can do now is hope for the best and to get myself checked out for any further problems.

Again, thank you for your time! I'll be sure to ask If anything else arises. Have a good day

Welcome for myself for my answers to you.:)

You are almost 100 kilo and only 19 years old. Heart attack is not something you should worry about, (just yet) but your weight is….because if you don’t do something about it will be more kgs and problems with the years to come….

I will most definitely be consulting my physician on the matter, but I have a question.

I will go through my entire day without experiencing any sort of wrongness with my chest/heart, but when it's closer to night time and night time, it starts up again. Could all of this be the cause of panic attacks, or something more serious? I don't experience any clamminess or pain or anything like that, but after awhile I find myself looking for something wrong even though it may not be there, and that causes me to think something is wrong, meaning I do start getting clammy, etc.

As I said above I WILL be going to my physician, I'd just rather not have a heart attack at such a young age.....

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Awareness of your heartbeat is termed as palpitation and it can be due to hyperthyroidism( overactive thyroid), arrhythmias (altered electrical system of the heart), certain medications, heart failure, anemia and low blood sugar. It can be aggravated by exercise, fever, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and dehydration. Anxiety, fear or stress can cause palpitations. You should consult your primary care physician for therapy. He will examine you and may ask for blood tests and an EKG.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

You need to change your eating habit also, plus what you already started, but not just a little here and there but lots of lots of jogging and more. Your heart is telling you the same, what I just said.

Good luck to get down to your idol weight that is around 83 kilos, 183 pounds.
