My recent radiologic reports says that "Heart is normalNormal saline flush in size" but "Aorta is tortous and calcified" What does this mean?. Addditional findings are "There are no active parenchymal infiltrates, Diaphram is unremarkable. By the way, I had my doubleDouble-tussin dm pass heart surgery 3-1/2 years ago.
It means that your aorta instead of going as a straight tube goes as a wavy tube with some bends in it. It is a variant of normal and there isn't anything you can do to fix it anyways. Calcified means your have arterial plaque that has hardened and when viewed, it looks like a bright spot on the pictures. the rest of it basically says "normal."
