Rapid Heart beat/AV BLock associated with infection?

I am 37 years old, and have had what my doctors believe to be a viral infection for the past 6 weeks. Concurrent with the onset was an outbreak of Pityriasis Rosea (skin rash thought to be caused by HHV-7; the rash is healing, but still present. The other main feature of this illness is that in the middle of the night I am awoken by a rapid, pounding heartbeat, and have mild sweating (sweating only happens sometimes). I also have some "shotty" inguinal and back of neck lymph nodes and on and off sore throats.
When the heart abnormality occurs I am also short of breath. Fatigue has also en bpresent most of the timeduring the past 6 weeks. At the onset of the whole thing the ECG revealed "AV Block" (1st degree), which didn't recur while I was hospitalized. For some reason now my cardiologist suspects 2nd degree AV Block and I just did the 24 hour Holter monitor thing (results not back yet).
But here's what I'm wondering: Could the heart problem be a manifestaton of the virus that my body is trying to fight off? Aside from MVP (w/ regurgation) I've never had anything wrong with my heart and am in fact very athletic. Does a rapid heart or AV Block sometimes accompany an infection like this? Thanks for any input!!

I would be concerned that your hear valve has become infected.  I would discuss this with your cardiologist.  Endocarditis or a hear infection may cause a block in the electrical conduction system.
