Rapid Pulse

My Mother is a 75 year old with Mac and Bronchetisis.  She is now hospitalized with severe shaking all over all the time.  She has a very rapid pulse, they can't seem to get it to slow down and can't find the cause of the shaking.  All her blood work was fine and so was the thyroid test.  Even her eyelids are shaking. Do you have any ideas.  They feel she won't last much longer and she is in one city and I am 5 hours away.

Dear Ann,

It is difficult to say what is causing this shaking.  It may be related to her illness.  You should discuss these concerns with her physicians or nurses to see if you can gain some insight.

the rapid heart rate may be exacerbated by her illness.  Hopefully once her bronchiectasis and infection has resolved all this will improve.
