I'm 37 yr old non-smoker/non-drinker male with mod AI.  My normal
blood pressure is 130/80.  I exercise frequently, running 3-4 miles/day,
5 days/week.
I currently have an opportunity to fly Navy T-34 aircraft and perform
some aerobatics and actually do some simulated dogfighting.
The typical G-forces range from -2 to +5 Gs.  I consulted with
my cardiologist if this would have a negative impact on my condition.
He really didn't know what affect this would have.
He consulted his partners (he is with a group) and they didn't know,
but their intuition was negative.
Do you have any information with reguards to this issue, or can you point
me in a direction to find the information?  Is their someone (flight surgeon)
that he can consult with to obtain some facts?
Thank You

Dear Don
I would not recommend it. Nor do I know of a cardiologist who would recommend it or a flight surgeon who would allow it.
I hope this has been useful. Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck.
Information provided here is of a general nature.  Specific diagnoses and treatments can only be made by your doctor.  If you would like to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE for an appointment with a cardiologist at Desk F15.
