My little boy, who is 22 months old, has been diagnosed as having Ebstein's
Anomaly.
He has moderately severe displacement of one leaflet of the tricuspid valve
and complete right bundle branch block.  He is currently "symptom free"
with nominal regurgitation on the valve and without requirement for
medication.
I have been advised that in the future he may require valve replacement
with a prosthetic valve, an option which I view as undesirable.
I am aware that in some cases, the tricuspid valve is amenable to repair
and am therefore seeking cardiologists/institutions with particular
expertise in this area with a view to having my child suitablitliy for
valve repair assessed.  We are willing to travel.
My questions therefore are:
1  What are the criteria which would render an individual unsuitable for
valve repair?
2  What are the implications for heart function of effectively increasing
the volume of the right ventrical upon replacement / repair?
and my most important question
3  How do I find out about centres currently specialising in valve
repair/Ebstein's corrective surgery?
