I am scheduled to have an electrical study to determine if I have
TachycardiaArrhythmias
Multifocal atrial tachycardia
Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (psvt)
Sick sinus syndrome
Ventricular tachycardia, which I understand can be treated with Albation, or
AtrialAtrial fibrillation/flutter
Atrial myxoma
Left atrial myxoma
Right atrial myxoma Fibrilation. If the later is the case, I'm told this can only be treated with medications. I am currently taking 12mgs of
AtenololAtenolol
Atenolol-chlorthalidone. Originally I was taking 5omgs. This dose caused shortness of

Breath holding spell
Breath odor & fatigue. The 12mgs seems to be ok with the exception of heart
fluttersAtrial fibrillation/flutter from time to time. Will the Electrical Study determine the cause of the rapid heart beat? What are the chances that it is Atrial Fibrilation versus Tachyccardia?
Dear Deb,
Thank you for your question. The electrical study will help to sort out which type of arrhythmia you have. I would only be guessing at which type it is.

Is Tachycardia or Atrial Fibrilation dangerous? What are difference between the two?
