Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear of your friends condition. Often a person can be very debilitated following a heart attack and it can take weeks to months to get better. Depression is often associated with the onset of serious illness. I would recommend you make the effort to support your friend the best you can and encourage him to continue with the rehabilitation. Even if it is very little every bit of activity will help him. Also do what you can to lift his spirits. Only time will tell how much better he will get but I would hope for the best and encourage him to do the same.
