On Wednesday I was driving by loose hydro wires that they were working on and as I drove by I felt a real tightening and pain in my chest. It got stronger as I approaced the wires and lessened off as I drove by. Could electromagnets from the wires cause this or was it coincidental? I was anxious at the time. I felt a heaviness in my chest for a couple of days after. I am obese and have hypertension and also partially numb feet and toes.

Dear D.O.C.,
The episode of chest discomfort that you experienced is unlikely related to the wires, more likely related to the anxiety, but regardless should be reported to your doctor and investigated in the near future.   If in the meanwhile you experience chest discomfort, it would be best to go to the nearest emergency room for an ecg and evalutaion of the chest pain.
